The indoor air purifier market is growing at 12% CAGR for the next 5 years. Nest, the Internet Of Things (IOT) consumer appliance company sees a potential opportunity to create an air purifier that ties into their home ecosystem.
This project was selected as one of the winning projects in the class by a jury of senior designers & venture capitalists.
In December 2015 Beijing became the first city in the world to issue an air quality red alert for 72 hours, shutting down schools and public institutions. The P.M. 2.5 level was 10 times greater than the W.H.O. limit.
In the U.S. its been reported that children are 15% more likely to develop asthma or breathing allergies and adults 47% more likely than those that live or raised outside of the U.S.
